Why QC Before Bulk, Not After
When you order a few rolls, a defect is annoying. When you order a container, a bad lot is a production stoppage. A 30-minute inspection on a supplier's pre-shipment sample protects every job downstream. These are the checks our own DTF PET film and hot melt powder lines run before release — use the same list on any supplier.
1. Film Release & Surface Check
- Clean release: after pressing, the PET liner should peel without tearing or leaving a foggy residue on the print.
- Coating uniformity: under light, the coated side should look evenly matte — no streaks, spots or bare patches.
- Curl & flatness: a roll that curls badly jams feeders and mis-registers.
2. Powder Adhesion & Coverage

Always pair the film with the recommended hot melt powder gauge — a mismatch is the most common cause of weak adhesion.
3. Print & Press a Real Sample
Don't judge by a photo. Print a high-detail, multi-color design, cure, then press onto your actual garment. Check:
- Detail sharpness: small text and fine lines stay crisp.
- Color accuracy: matches your approved reference (see our DTF ink color guide).
- Feel: transfer is flexible, not stiff or rubbery.
4. Hard-Surface Transfer Check (if you run UV DTF)
For tumblers, phone cases and gifts, verify UV DTF AB film by applying to a curved, washed surface and checking for bubbles, edge lift and scratch resistance.
5. Packaging & Storage Review
Confirm carton packing, moisture-barrier wrapping and lot labeling so you can trace and store by batch. Keep film and powder in a dry, 20–25°C environment away from direct sun.
